I've always loved this song--I can remember once when the Princess was really small--maybe four?--they were over here and she began singing "Give me the beat boys and free my soul" (with great pitch and said all the words right!) out of nowhere--I think Smashmouth or one of those groups Bubba listens to had done a cover and she learned it that way--but NOBODY does it right except Dobie Gray. Thank you. <3
ReplyDeletep.s. speaking of covers, one of the videos I looked at said it was the Doobie Brothers, but it wasn't. Ooops. Doobie .. Dobie ... what's the diff? Pretty soon someone will say it's Dobie Gillis. Remember that? ;)

ReplyDeleteTruthfully? I wish at YouTube people would say in all caps COVER--I've gotten stuck listening to some very strange stuff because they didn't mention it was a cover--
